ACIT Mission
Founded in April 2010, the Anindo Chatterjee Institute of Tabla is a incorporated 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. Our main mission is to encourage and support the art of tabla drumming through public educational programs and events in the state of Washington.
How was ACIT founded?
In 2009, a small group of tabla students, teachers, musicians and tabla enthusiasts came together with the idea of creating a learning community in Seattle. In the Spring of 2010 ACIT launched its website, held its first workshops, tabla solo performance and master class at the University of Washington in Seattle. The majority of our activities, including our website, are organized and produced entirely through volunteer hours and other donations.
Who are we?
ACIT is made up of a diverse group of tabla students, musicians of many genres, teachers and other community members.
